Al King

Al King is the Director of Athletics at Ashland University, a position held since July 4, 2014, following an interim role beginning in spring 2014. Under Al King's leadership, the university's NCAA Division II athletics program, encompassing 19 sports, has been effectively directed. Prior to this, Al King served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations and Interim Director of Athletics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from July 1989 to July 1993, where responsibilities included overseeing media guides and the athletic newsletter. Al King's career began as a Sports Staff Writer for the Indiana Gazette from October 1984 to June 1989, covering diverse sporting events including Pittsburgh Steelers games. Al King holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.
