Dewald Bester

Microsoft Technology Advocate at Ashling Partners

Dewald Bester began their work experience in 2004 as a Desktop Support Engineer at Tshwane University of Technology. Dewald provided on-site support for over 175 users and 225 computers in a Microsoft Active Directory environment. Dewald also provided support for Microsoft Operating Systems and applications, including Windows Updates and service pack installations.

In 2007, Bester joined Digital Mail Limited as a Support Officer, where they provided telephonic support for customers in the UK and Europe. Dewald also provided email support through an online ticketing system and processed payments.

Bester then returned to Tshwane University of Technology in 2007, continuing their role as a Desktop Support Engineer. Dewald assisted with various projects, including the implementation of a new information center, network cut-over, and roll-out of new switches.

In 2009, Bester joined K2 as a Software Support Engineer. Dewald'sresponsibilities included delivering technical product support for K2's software products and troubleshooting issues across multiple systems and integration points. Dewald later became a Technical Consultant, providing on-site assistance to customers and partners with project delivery and customization using SharePoint and other technologies.

In 2017, Bester became the Chief Executive Officer at fourTENS, where they held the position until 2022. As CEO, they assumed overall responsibility for the company's operations and strategic direction.

Most recently, in 2022, Bester joined Ashling Partners as the Head of Low-code Development. In this role, they oversee the development and implementation of low-code solutions.

Throughout their career, Bester has demonstrated expertise in technical support, project management, and leadership roles within the technology industry.

Dewald Bester's education history begins with their high school diploma from Wonderboom Highschool, which they obtained between 1998 and 2002. Dewald then pursued a National Diploma in Information Technology at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with a Software Emphasis at Western Governors University from 2013 to 2015. Lastly, Dewald earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from Western Governors University between 2015 and 2016.

Dewald is also certified as a K2 Master and holds the Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect certification.
