Project Manager at Ashtead Technology

Philip Johnston has extensive work experience in project management and engineering roles in the offshore industry. Philip has worked for various companies, including Ashtead Technology, ACE Winches, Global Offshore, Helix Energy Solutions Group, Canyon Offshore Limited, Searchwise Ltd, and Air Liquide.

In their most recent position, Philip served as a Project Manager at Ashtead Technology, starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Engineer at ACE Winches from October 2022 to May 2023.

From October 2021 to October 2022, Philip held the role of Project Manager at Global Offshore. Before that, they spent over four years at Helix Energy Solutions Group as a Project Manager, responsible for managing multi-million dollar projects involving Trenching and ROV assets.

Philip also gained project management experience at Canyon Offshore Limited, where they worked as a Trenching/WROV Project Engineer and later as a Project Manager. During their time at Canyon Offshore Limited, Philip focused on effectively managing ROV/Trenching projects and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Prior to their roles in the offshore industry, Philip served as an Operations Manager at Searchwise Ltd, where they were responsible for improving operational systems and processes within the organization. Philip also worked as a Special Gas Technical Controller/Export Coordinator at Air Liquide, overseeing the manufacture of specialty gases and providing technical support for sales and business development.

Throughout their career, Philip has demonstrated strong project management skills, ensuring the safe and timely execution of projects while maintaining high standards of work. Philip has also gained experience in various aspects of project operations, including management, planning, client liaison, and team coordination.

Philip Johnston attended Ellon Academy from 1982 to 1986. During this time, they did not obtain a specific degree or field of study. Additionally, Philip has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include the Control of Substance Hazardous to Health from CPL Learning in September 2022, the Chester Step Test from The Eston Surgery in January 2019, the PRINCE2® Foundation Certificate in Project Management from PRINCE2.com in December 2018, the APM Introduction to Project Management from APM in October 2013, Managing Safely from IOSH in November 2012, RIDDOR from MY TRAINING ACADEMY in September 2022, and the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training with HUET & EBS from OPITO in February 2013.
