Tin Maung, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Tin started their career as a Tutor at the University of Computer Studies, Yangon and later transitioned to the role of Research Engineer. Afterward, they worked as a Course Instructor & Lecturer at the India-Myanmar Center for Enhancement of IT Skills (IMCEITS), University of Computer Studies, Yangon.
In 2015, Tin Maung joined Telenor as an Expert, EDW System Analyst, where they managed the operations and administration of BI applications and infrastructure, ensuring data quality and testing. Tin also held the position of Manager, BI Strategy and Planning in the Business Intelligence department at Telenor Myanmar.
In 2018, Tin Maung joined Yoma Bank as part of the Data & Analytics team, where they played a pivotal role in building the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Business Intelligence (BI) system. Tin provided support to all business units by analyzing banking data, customer portfolios, and business processes to create new products.
Currently, Tin Maung is the Head of Business Intelligence at AGD Bank. Since joining in 2019, they have been instrumental in transforming the organization into a data-driven one. Tin oversees the establishment of the Data and Business Intelligence Department, develops BI dashboards for senior management and business units, and leads data governance exercises to ensure data alignment and quality for the EDW and BI solution.
Tin Maung, Ph.D. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Information Technology from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon in the years 2009-2013. Prior to that, Tin Maung completed a Master of Computer Science (M.C.Sc) in Computer and Information Sciences from the same university from 2006-2008. Tin Maung also holds a B.C.Sc (Honours) and a B.C.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon, completed in 2004-2005 and 2001-2003 respectively. Additionally, Tin Maung acquired a Nano Degree in Machine Learning and Data Science from Udacity in 2017. Tin Maung has also obtained several certifications related to data analytics, statistics, and financial forecasting from LinkedIn in 2019.
