Director Of Policy And Civic Engagement at ASIAN COUNSELING AND REFERRAL SERVICE

Shomya Tripathy's work experience includes serving as the Director of Policy and Civic Engagement at Asian Counseling and Referral Service since November 2019. Prior to this role, they worked at Advocates for Youth as the Senior Manager of the Youth Activist Network from December 2014 to July 2019. In this position, they developed and managed grassroots strategies for national advocacy campaigns and built relationships with students and partner organizations. They also worked as a Graduate Consultant at the City of Seattle from December 2018 to June 2019, where they conducted research on the city's creative economy. Before that, they were a State Training Program Senior Organizer at New Organizing Institute from January 2014 to July 2014, organizing trainings and events in Chicago. Their earliest work experience was as a Community Manager at STAND from July 2012 to August 2013, where they managed international advocacy campaigns and oversaw grassroots development.

Shomya Tripathy completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public Policy Analysis from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington. This educational pursuit took place from 2017 to 2019. Prior to this, between 2008 and 2012, Tripathy attained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Government and African & African American Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
