Devika Wattal

Devika Wattal is an accomplished professional in the field of chemical engineering with extensive experience in innovation and carbon capture technologies. Currently serving as an Innovation Consultant at the Global Cement and Concrete Association since September 2021, Devika leads the "Innovandi" Open Challenge program aimed at fostering innovative solutions for the cement and concrete industry to achieve net-zero goals. Concurrently, Devika works as a Consultant - Carbon Capture Specialist at the Asian Development Bank, focusing on the pre-feasibility study for CO2 capture and utilization in the Indian cement industry. Previously, Devika held the position of Senior Research Scientist at Reliance, contributing to the "Algae to Oil" initiative, and worked as a Researcher at Battelle India, leading efforts in membrane development and innovative chemical process validation. Early career experience includes a brief tenure as a Scientist 'C' at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. Devika holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a Bachelor’s degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
