Emmanuel Jimenez

Director General, Independent Evaluation Department at Asian Development Bank

Emmanuel Jimenez is the current Director General of the Independent Evaluation Department at the Asian Development Bank. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) from February 2015 to February 2020. From August 1984 to December 2014, Emmanuel Jimenez was the Director of Public Sector Evaluations at the World Bank, where they led a team evaluating the impact of public sector programs. From March 2020 to November 2021, they worked as an independent consultant, providing economic and evaluative advice to a variety of multilateral development banks, 3ie and the Global Development Network. Emmanuel has also taught graduate courses at the Korea Development Institute (KDI) School of Management and Public Policy. Emmanuel Jimenez is the editor in chief of the "Journal of Development Effectiveness".

Emmanuel Jimenez received their Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Brown University. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at McGill University.
