Adult Education and Literacy Manager at Asian Human Services

Mandy Gearhart has had a diverse career in education. Mandy started as a Substitute Teacher at the Northwest Regional Education Service District in 2009, then moved on to a Student Teacher role at St. Helens High School that same year. In 2012, they became an English Teacher at Aran Language School in Yongin, South Korea, where they taught English to over 140 Kindergarten and Elementary school students and created and implemented daily lesson plans for five different age groups/classes. In 2014, they joined Asian Human Services, Inc. as an Adult Education and Literacy Manager, ESL Coordinator, and English Second Language Instructor.

Mandy Gearhart's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, General and Secondary Education from Warner Pacific University, which they obtained between 2004 and 2009. Mandy then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor from Northeastern Illinois University, which they obtained between 2015 and 2017. In 2014-2015, they also studied Language, Literacy, and Culture at North Park University. Additionally, Mandy Gearhart has obtained certifications from LinkedIn in Become a Manager, How to Manage Feeling Overwhelmed, The Mindful Workday, The Six Morning Habits of High Performers, and Cambridge English: CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Cambridge English Language Assessment.
