Asian Improv aRts
Lenora Lee is an accomplished Project Manager at Asian Improv aRts since 2008 and serves as the Artistic Director of Lenora Lee Dance since 2007. With a robust background in the arts, Lenora Lee is also recognized as a National Dance Project Award Recipient from the New England Foundation for the Arts and held esteemed Artist in Residence positions at ArtsEmerson and Pao Arts Center in 2022. In 2019, Lenora Lee was honored as a United States Artist Fellow, and previously served as a Visiting Scholar at the Asian/Pacific/American Institute at New York University from 2012 to 2016. Notable artistic contributions include fellowships at the de Young Museum and residencies at Fort Mason Center and Dance Brigade Dance Mission. Lenora Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance: Choreography & Performance from UCLA and is a graduate of Lowell High School.

Mission Statement Asian Improv aRts' mission is to produce, present and document artistic works that represent the Asian American experience. Organizational Statement With a unique and active network of professional and emerging musicians and artists, community organizations, and activists, AIR has consistently produced or facilitated cultural events of the highest quality that have brought international attention to the Asian American arts movement in the Chicago and San Francisco Bay Areas. In addition, Asian Improv provides critical technical assistance, advocacy, production support, mentorship and networking to artists and arts organizations through its Community Arts Development Program and the California Asian and Pacific Islander Arts Network.
