Laura Getz is a skilled Job Readiness Instructor at the ASIAN PACIFIC DEVELOPMENT CENTER since August 2016, where Laura teaches ESL learners essential job entry skills through an intensive ten-week program. Concurrently, Laura serves as a Navigator at Mi Casa Resource Center, employing motivational interviewing techniques to support participants in customer service and financial service career trainings. Previous experience includes serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica, where Laura taught English and prepared students for national exams, and internships with the International Institute and YWCA, focusing on educational outreach and support for refugees. Laura holds a Master's of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science, Spanish, and International Studies from the University of Dayton.

Mission: The Asian Pacific Development Center is a community-based, nonprofit, 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1980 to serve the needs of a growing population of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AA/PI) residents throughout Colorado. APDC operates a licensed Community Mental Health Clinic designated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, innovative Health Promotion and Youth Programs , and a multicultural Interpreters Bank . A trained professional staff provides Culturally Competent services that include: assessment and evaluation, individual and group counseling; case management services; victim assistance services; mentorship, after school, and youth leadership programs; health promotion; interpretation/translation services; as well as cultural competency training and consultation. Services provided are linguistically and culturally appropriate.
