Gen Utsumi　－ 内海　玄

Gen Utsumi has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in assisting foreign IT ventures with their entry into the Japanese market. Gen has a strong background in Financial Services and has worked with various asset classes. Gen has helped drive digital transformation in industries such as Finance, Human Resources, Travel/Leisure, and Smart Office/Facility Management.

Gen has held leadership positions at several companies, including SilkRoaD, where they served as the Chief Executive Officer since 2009. At SilkRoaD, Gen focused on working with a selected number of companies that matched specific criteria for success in the Japanese market.

Gen also worked at smartTrade Technologies as the Director of Sales and Business Development - Asia Pacific. In this role, they were responsible for sales, business development, and account management for Asian clients. smartTrade Technologies specializes in providing liquidity management systems for banks.

Gen's experience also includes working at AsiaYo, a Taiwanese start-up, where they served as a Founding Member and the Head of Japan. AsiaYo is an online booking platform for BnB/Hotels, aiming to be customer-centric in the Asian market.

Gen has also worked at Roby, assisting in the transformation of existing and new buildings into smart buildings by serving as a Senior Business Advisor. Roby acts as an API hub for Smart Building/Smart Office start-ups globally.

Additionally, Gen has served as the Director of Oversea Business Development at Intelligent Wave Inc., developing cutting-edge IP Broadcast Monitoring solutions.

Other companies where Gen has held positions include Quantinuum, MultiWave, Capitolis, Tokyo Commodity Exchange, and JobKred.

Gen Utsumi attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
