Cyber Security Operations Centre Lead at ASIC

Benjamin Palmer has held various roles in their work experience. Benjamin started their career in 2000 as a Technical Officer at the Department of Defence of Australia, where they worked until 2007. In 2006, they worked as an IT Support Analyst in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs. From 2007 to present, they have worked at ASIC, starting as a Technology Practitioner and progressing to roles in IT Security, including Cyber Security Specialist and Gateway Operations Lead. Currently, they hold the position of Cyber Security Operations Centre Lead at ASIC.

Benjamin Palmer obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Science [BEngSc] degree in Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney from 2002 to 2008. Benjamin also completed an Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering & Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Trade) from the Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT). Additionally, they hold an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from SIBT, which they obtained in 1999. Benjamin has also obtained certifications such as CISSP® - Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)², as well as SANS SEC401: GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) and SANS SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling (GCIH) from the SANS Institute.
