Ross Buckley

Ross Buckley is a distinguished academic and legal professional with extensive experience in financial regulation and law. Currently serving as a Scientia Professor and Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow at UNSW since January 2007, Buckley also holds the position of Professor of Law. In addition, Buckley has been an active member of various advisory groups at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) since February 2017, including the Public Private Markets Advisory Network and the Digital Finance Advisory Panel. As of July 2023, Buckley is a member of the Payments System Board at the Reserve Bank of Australia and has been appointed as a Strategic Research Advisor for the Digital Finance CRC beginning January 2025. Buckley earned a PhD in Financial Regulation from UNSW and holds an LL.D. in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from the University of Melbourne.
