João Ortiz

João Ortiz has extensive work experience in the field of data engineering and analytics. João began their career as an Information Technology Intern at SR Embalagens Plásticas in 2009 and later worked as an Information Technology Assistant and System Analyst. In 2013, they transitioned to teaching Physics at Colégio Cecília Meirelles and later at the Governo do Estado de São Paulo. João then returned to the IT industry, working as a Python Software Engineer at Paulo Roberto Joaquim dos Reis Advogados Associados. João also worked as an Information Technology System Analyst specializing in Business Intelligence at SR Embalagens Plásticas. João joined Kzas as a Data Engineer in 2020 and later worked at Space Sheep Games in the same role. In 2021, João became a Lead Data Engineer at Zak, where they were responsible for managing the Data Engineering team and implementing Event-Driven Architecture. Currently, João is a Lead Data Engineer at Ask Media Group, where they focus on designing and implementing data pipelines, orchestrating workflows, and implementing CI/CD best practices.

João Ortiz holds a Master's degree in Physics from UFSCar - Alumni, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Centro Universitário da Fundação Educacional de Barretos from 2009 to 2011. João also attended Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho from 2006 to 2008, although the degree and field of study are unspecified. In addition to their academic achievements, João has pursued various certifications, including a DevOps Crash Course from CoRise in 2023 and an Astronomer Certification in DAG Authoring for Apache Airflow from Astronomer in 2022. João has also completed several other certifications focused on leadership, data analysis, and artificial intelligence from institutions such as LinkedIn, Databricks, FIA Business School, and How Bootcamps. Furthermore, they undertook an English course at ATC Language Schools in 2018.
