Niina Ahola

Niina Ahola has worked in a variety of roles in the field of research and development. Niina began their career in 1998 as a Researcher and Research Assistant at the Helsinki University of Technology, where they conducted research on controlled drug release from biodegradable polymers. Niina then moved on to Tampere University of Technology in 2007, where they worked as a Lecturer and Researcher and completed their Doctoral Thesis on In vitro Studies of Bioabsorbable and Antibiotic-Releasing Composites for the Treatment of Osteomyelitis. In 2011, they became a Cofounder of Taipuva Consulting Oy. In 2015, they joined Arctic Biomaterials Medical, where they held the roles of R&D Manager, Materials, R&D Director, Materials, R&D Manager, and Laboratory Manager. In 2021, they began working as the R&D Director for Askel Healthcare Ltd.

Niina Ahola obtained a D.Sc. (Tech) in Biomedical Engineering from Tampere University of Technology 1965-2018 between 2009 and 2014. Niina also holds an M.Sc. in Polymer Technology, Chemical Engineering, and Organic Chemistry from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, which they earned between 1994 and 2000. Additionally, they studied at Technische Universität Wien from 1997 to 1998.
