Jacob Smith

Jacob Smith currently serves as the Head of Technical Development & CMC and Head of Manufacturing at Viralgen since May 2023. Prior to this role, Jacob held various positions at Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc., including Vice President of Process Development & Manufacturing, Senior Director of Process Development, and Director of Process Development from November 2017 to the present. Jacob's earlier experience includes roles at Bamboo Therapeutics, Inc. as a Senior Scientist in Gene Therapy Bioprocess R&D and as a Process Development Scientist/Senior Manager as well as a Process Development Specialist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Gene Therapy Center. Jacob began the professional journey at Intrexon Corporation as a Laboratory Associate and conducted undergraduate research at James Madison University. Jacob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from James Madison University in 2010.
