Dario Rodrigues, PhD, serves as an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology and Director of the Hyperthermia Therapy Practice School at the University of Maryland School of Medicine since June 2018. The Hyperthermia Therapy Practice School is a CME accredited program focused on the theoretical aspects of thermal therapy. Dario Rodrigues holds additional leadership roles as Chair of the Standards Committee on Thermal Medicine with ASME and serves as a Councilor in Engineering/Physics for the Society for Thermal Medicine. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral research fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals and work as a Research Scholar at Duke University, where significant contributions were made to microwave hyperthermia for preclinical studies. Academically, Dario Rodrigues earned a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with research expertise in mathematical modeling of heat transfer in biological tissues. Other professional experiences include roles in human resources, marketing, and as a research associate focusing on medical device development.
