Iana Aranda

Managing Director, Sustainability at ASME

Iana Aranda has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Their current position is Chief Member at Chief, a company they joined in 2023. Prior to this, they held multiple positions at ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) from 2019 to 2023, including Senior Director, Engineering for Sustainable Development and Director, Engineering Global Development. Iana was responsible for strategic planning, revenue generation, managing a sustainability and technology program portfolio, and leading a globally distributed team.

Before ASME, Iana served as the President of Engineering for Change, LLC from 2017. In this role, they led impact projects and services that focused on sustainability outcomes and enhanced ESG portfolios. Additionally, they oversaw the E4C Fellowship and played a key role in establishing key programs, resulting in a large membership base.

Iana also has experience working at ASME as a Senior Program Manager, where they developed the business strategy for engineering and global development programs. At Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, they worked as an Engineering Specialist, and at Spectral Applied Research, they were a Junior Design Engineer.

Iana Aranda has a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Iana also has a Certificate in Global Affairs from New York University, which they completed from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG Online from Berkeley Law Executive Education and Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute in 2016.
