Zhiming Zhang

Zhiming Zhang is a Senior Electron Optics Design Engineer at ASML, engaged in designing electron optics modules for e-beam inspection tools, overseeing their development from concept to final release for high-volume manufacturing. Previously, Zhiming served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Washington, where responsibilities included leading the installation and validation of a low-temperature STM system. Zhiming's academic experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Associate at the University of Arizona, leading a collaborative project that resulted in the first experimental discovery of flat bands in twisted transition metal dichalcogenides, with findings published in Nature Physics. Additional roles included tutoring as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona and conducting undergraduate research in cleanroom environments at Peking University and UCLA, with notable publications in Nano Letters and contributions to understanding spin dynamics in the human brain. Zhiming holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Arizona and a BS in Physics from Nankai University.
