Laura Nelson

Director, Outreach

Laura Nelson currently serves as the Director of Outreach at the ASPCA, where responsibilities include leading outreach and communications to promote the organization’s Shelter Services teams. As a Co-Founder of Project Bella Foundation, Laura Nelson focuses on empowering animal welfare organizations through fundraising and awareness initiatives, notably the Shelter Slumber Pawty event that has raised over $600,000 since its inception. Previous experience includes serving as Program Director at Gateway Pet Guardians, overseeing multiple programs, and holding various marketing positions at CBRE, where Laura Nelson managed integrated marketing strategies for the Midwest region. Additional roles include Marketing Associate at AAIM Employers’ Association and Marketing Coordinator at the Missouri Society of CPAs, along with earlier positions in collateral materials and creative coordination. Laura Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Culver-Stockton College.
