Sarah Shively

Sarah Shively has a diverse work experience in the animal welfare industry. Sarah is currently the Senior Director of Operations at the ASPCA's Behavioral Rehabilitation Center. Prior to their current role, they worked at Humane Animal Rescue, where they held various positions including Director of Shelter Operations, Director of Admissions & Relocation, and Manager of Behavior & Relocation. Sarah also worked at the Western PA Humane Society as an Assistant Director of Marketing & Public Relations and Outreach & Communications Coordinator. Earlier in their career, they served as the Marketing Manager & Staff Training Manager at Camp Bow Wow Pittsburgh and as an Office & Kennel Technician at Fayette Friends of Animals Shelter.

Sarah Shively's education history includes a Certificate in Animal Shelter Management from the University of the Pacific, obtained in 2019. Sarah also completed an internship in Animal Sheltering & Behavior at the Animal Farm Foundation in 2013. Prior to that, they attended PennWest California from 2006 to 2010, focusing on Pre-Nursing/Nursing. Sarah completed their high school education at South Side Beaver High School from 2002 to 2006, with a focus on General Studies. Sarah has obtained additional certifications including being Certified in Shelter Behavior - Dog from IAABC in 2021, Fear Free Shelter Certified from Fear Free LLC in 2019, and Shelter Behavior Accreded from IAABC in 2018.
