Engineer II, Manufacturing at Aspect Biosystems

Suresha Mahadeva is a Microfluidics Manufacturing Engineer at Aspect Biosystems. Suresha has a long history of working in research and development, with a focus on material science and engineering.

Suresha's first position was as a Lab Engineer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia from November 2011 to December 2015. In this role, Suresha was responsible for developing and characterizing new materials, conducting studies on mechanical tests, and performing physical and chemical characterization of materials. Suresha was also responsible for managing multiple research projects, maintaining laboratory equipment, and drafting lab manuals and safety protocols.

In their current role as a Microfluidics Manufacturing Engineer at Aspect Biosystems, Suresha is responsible for manufacturing microfluidic devices for use in biomedical applications. Suresha has also co-authored a grant proposal that has resulted in securing a fund of $25,000 from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

Suresha Mahadeva has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Inha University, a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Materials Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, and an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from PES College of Engineering. Suresha Mahadeva is also certified by APEGBC as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng), and by The University of British Columbia in Biological Safety Training Course, Laboratory Chemical Safety, and Radionuclide safety and Methodology course including receiving class 7 dangerous goods. Suresha Mahadeva is also certified by Universal Learning Institute in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

They are on a team with Shaun Laidlow - Mechanical Engineer, Hesham Soliman - Lead Research Scientist, Tissue Engineering, and Sebastian Steiner - Lead Hardware & Mechatronics Engineer. Suresha Mahadeva reports to Simon Beyer, CTO.
