Carlos Máximo Garrido Mascott

Carlos Martinez is a seasoned professional in alumni engagement and higher education, currently serving as the Senior Associate Director of Alumni Engagement at the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan since April 2015. Previously, Carlos held various roles at the University of Michigan, including Alumni Engagement Manager and Regional Relations Program Coordinator. Carlos also contributed to the School of Public Health Office of Development and Alumni Relations as an Administrator from August 2013 to March 2015. Earlier in the career, Carlos was a College Adviser at Muskegon High School, assisting students with college applications and financial aid processes, while also developing college access programs. Carlos began the professional journey as a Lab Technician at Asbury Carbons, ensuring quality control, and completed an internship in the Department of Psychology at Wayne State University, focusing on behavioral symptoms in Black youth. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Spanish from the University of Michigan and studied Romance Languages and Literature at the Universidad de Salamanca.
