Lee Bynum

Lee Bynum serves as the Executive Director of Maestra Music Organization, where leadership focuses on advancing gender equity in musical theater by supporting women and nonbinary artists. Concurrently, Bynum functions as a Consulting Associate and Senior Consultant for the Aspen Leadership Group and The Inclusion Firm, providing strategic guidance on inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility within arts organizations. Bynum also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, teaching courses on philanthropy and ethics. Previous roles include Chief Education Officer at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Vice President of Impact at Minnesota Opera, and Associate Director at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Bynum holds a Doctor of Philosophy and multiple advanced degrees from Columbia University, emphasizing American history and African American studies.
