Dustin Hurshman has extensive work experience in the field of information security and network engineering. Dustin currently holds the position of Principal Information Security Engineer at ASRC Federal, where they started in October 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Incident Response Team Lead at IndraSoft, Inc. from April 2021 to October 2021.
From 2005 to 2021, Dustin worked at the City of Thousand Oaks as a Cyber Security Officer, Network Engineer, and IT Analyst III. In this role, they provided support in the development, installation, implementation, testing, evaluation, and administration of the city's local and wide area networks. Dustin also managed and maintained network hardware and software applications.
Before joining the City of Thousand Oaks, Dustin served in the US Army for nearly three decades. Dustin held various roles including CPT (RET), Cyber Threat Intel Officer, MI Officer, SIGINT Analyst, and MASINT Analyst. Dustin also served as a SIGINT/MASINT Analyst from 1991 to 2011. Dustin also served as a Lan/Web Systems Administrator at the Ventura Superior Court, County of Ventura from November 1994 to December 2005. In this role, Dustin led the planning, installation, administration, and maintenance of the court's network environment.

Dustin Hurshman earned a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from Florida Institute of Technology in the years 2007-2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems from University of Phoenix in the years 2000-2002. In 2015, they completed the Technical Management Program at UCLA Extension - Custom Programs & Corporate Education, receiving a Completion Certificate. In addition to their degrees, Dustin has multiple certifications including Fortinet NSE 2, Certified Counterintelligence Threat Analyst (CCTA) from McAfee Institute, Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Network Defense Architect from EC-Council, and Certified Information Systems Security Specialist from (ISC)².
