Herbert Spikes

Herbert Spikes has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several decades. Herbert started their career in the US Navy, serving from 1978 to 1998 as a CWO2. After that, they worked as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant for the US Department of Veterans Affairs from 2008 to 2015. Herbert then transitioned into the IT field and worked as a Computer Specialist for the Air Force Space Command/U.S. Department of the Air Force in 2015. Following that, they held roles as a Windows System Administrator for CSRA Inc in 2016, a Computer Systems Analyst/Network Technician for Vector Planning & Services, Inc. from 2016 to 2017, a Computer Systems Administrator for Vectrus in 2018, and a Staff Technologist/TRANET Systems Administrator for Booz Allen Hamilton from 2019 to 2020. Most recently, Herbert has worked as a Senior Cyber Systems Administrator for The Select Group from 2020 to 2021, and they currently hold the position of Principal Cyber Systems Administrator/UCSA DISA at ASRC Federal since 2021. Throughout their career, Herbert has gained experience in various IT roles, including system administration, network administration, and client support.

Herbert Spikes has a Bachelor of Science-Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Management Information Systems from the University of West Florida, which they obtained between 2001 and 2003. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Computer Information Systems from Pensacola State College, from 1999 to 2001.

In addition to their degrees, Herbert has acquired numerous certifications over the years. Some of these certifications include the Amazon Web Services Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2023, the VMware Certified Professional--Data Center Virtualization 2020 (VCP-DCV2020) from VMware in 2020, and the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2016 from Microsoft in 2019. Herbert has also obtained various certifications from CompTIA, DISA, and Microsoft in the fields of IT, networking, and cybersecurity.
