Mario Junguito

Mario Junguito is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in operations and development across various leading energy companies. Currently serving as a Senior Operations Geologist at Assala Energy since November 2019, Mario specializes in planning and executing horizontal drilling to capture attic reserves. Previous roles include Senior Consultant Geologist at Allied Petroleum, where exploration and development opportunities were evaluated in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Latin America, and Staff Geological Specialist at Nexen, focusing on reservoir characterization. Additional experience encompasses international exploration projects with Talisman Energy, geological appraisal and well operations management with CEPSA, and leadership in development at Petrozuata. Mario's career commenced at BP and Teikoku Oil, where foundational geologic skills were honed. Mario holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Louisiana Tech University.
