Xuman (Ariel) Tang has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences spanning over several years. Xuman (Ariel) began their career as a Research Assistant at Dalian Zhangzidao Fisheries Group, Inc., where they completed a technical guidance internship focused on breeding and researching Hawaii scallops. Xuman (Ariel) then worked as a Research Assistant at Dalian Ocean University before joining the Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies as a Graduate Research Assistant and later as a Laboratory Assistant. In 2012, Tang transitioned to Quintara Biosciences, where they worked as a DNA Sequencing Analyst for four years. Xuman (Ariel) then joined Assembly Biosciences, Inc. as a Senior Research Associate in 2016 and was later promoted to the role of Associate Scientist.

Xuman (Ariel) Tang holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Marine Biology, which was obtained from San Francisco State University. Xuman (Ariel) attended this university from 2008 to 2012.
