V. Sunil Kumar

Born in North Paravoor, near Kochi, Sunil Kumar graduated in Civil Engineering from the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, and completed the post-graduate programme in Real Estate Management at IIM, Bangalore. He also completed the Executive Education Programme in Real Estate Management at Harvard Business School, Boston, followed by a two-year Senior Executive Leadership Programme in Management, also from HBS. He has been accredited with a Professional Diploma by Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Sunil Kumar started his career with IHRDE and went on to work with Cochin Refineries and Surbacon Developers, Bangalore. In 1994, he started Santhi Homes, which developed 12 residential projects in Kochi. In 2007, he founded Asset Homes Pvt. Ltd., which has delivered 68 projects across Kerala in a short span of 15 years. Asset is now one of the leading brands in India, with its roots in Kerala and its reach steadily spreading to a wide range of customers across the globe.

Under Sunil Kumar's leadership, Asset Homes has received an array of prestigious recognitions, including International Property Award in association with Bloomberg Television 2011, CNBC AWAAZ - CRISIL - CREDAI Real Estate Award for 'India's Most Innovative Project,' CRISIL 7 Star rating for 3 of the company’s residential projects, CIDC - Chairman Commendation Award 2019, CIDC - Best Professionally Managed Company 2019, CIDC - Achievement Award for Best Construction 2019, CIDC - Award for Creating Social Development & Impact 2019 and many more.

Within 8 years of its inception, Asset Homes became the youngest builder to receive CRISIL DA2 rating, and in 2019, the company received CRISIL DA2+ rating, thus becoming the highest rated builder in Kerala.

17 unique Delight Services implemented by him include a 25-year free insurance coverage for apartments/villas and a 10-year service/maintenance warranty, customer-friendly initiatives such as free transit home facilities in major cities in Kerala, procuring nursing care facility for family members of Asset Homes customers, etc. Some of the social initiatives undertaken by Asset Homes are Ashiyana for building homes for the poor and homeless, Treedhan for gifting teak saplings for newborn girls, the hugely popular Beyond Square Feet lecture series on sustainable development, and Insight, a call centre run by vision-impaired personnel. Sunil Kumar, a brilliant orator, has proved his talent in literature also. He has authored a book titled "Build to Last" in English and the Malayalam version named “SUSTHIRA NIRMITHIKAL which was published by D.C. Books and released by Former Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam, and the first copy was received by Prof. M.K. Sanu. He penned a book titled CO-VEEDU days, 21 days lockdown musings which got published as an E –book and was E-released by Mr.Satish Magar , President-Credai National, through video conference in the presence of more than 100 builders across India.
