Martin Shapiro

Martin Shapiro, MD MBA, is a Principal at Asset Management Ventures, focusing on early-stage investments in digital health, technology, and life sciences. As a Catalyst Digital Health Advisor with UCSF Innovation Ventures, Martin provides mentorship and funding for translational-stage projects. Additionally, Martin serves as a Family and Community Medicine Resident at the University of California, San Francisco, and previously held roles including Primary Care Innovation Fellow at the American Academy of Family Physicians and Senior Venture Architect at BCG Digital Ventures. Martin's diverse background includes experience as a Digital Health Product Strategist at Sidebench, a Cancer Michelson Fellow at the University of Southern California, and co-founding Speranza Health, a nonprofit dedicated to cancer care in Guatemala. Academic qualifications include an MD from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University.
