Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat

Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat is an accomplished legal and corporate governance professional currently serving as Managing Director and Group General Counsel at Essar since August 2024 and Co-Chairperson of the National Council for Corporate Affairs, Company Law and Corporate Governance at ASSOCHAM since May 2024. Previously, Dr. Gemawat held the position of Group General Counsel at Vedanta Resources Limited from June 2022 to August 2024 and at Dalmia Bharat Group from January 2016 to June 2022. Extensive experience includes roles such as Executive Vice President at DLF Limited and Vice President at JCB, along with leadership positions in legal, secretarial, and compliance functions at GBC Modicorp Ltd. and Modi Olivetti Ltd. Dr. Gemawat holds multiple fellow memberships in chartered accountancy and company secretarial fields and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Insider Trading from Jai Narain Vyas University, along with other advanced degrees in law and commerce.
