Laurie A. Carter

Laurie A. Carter is a Board Member at Associated Colleges of the Midwest and a Senior Associate Vice President for Civic Engagement at the University of Chicago.

Laurie has over 19 years of experience in community and government relations, program development, urban planning, project management, economic development, nonprofit management, issues management, and communications. Sonya led the concept development and launch of the Civic Leadership Academy and was co-chair of the University's Diversity Leadership Council.

In their current role, Laurie is responsible for overseeing the civic engagement portfolio at UChicago and reports to the Vice President for Civic Engagement and External Affairs.
