Donald Adams has diverse work experience, starting from 2003 as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at the University of Maine. Donald later worked as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Beloit College from 2005 to 2010, and then at Clarke University from 2010 to 2017. In 2013, they became the Owner of Adams Garlic, a small family farm in Wisconsin. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as the Business Development Manager at Wisconsin Whey Protein Inc. Currently, they are the Director of Sales-Dairy Powders and Dairy Liquids at Associated Milk Producers Inc., a position they have held since March 2020.

Donald Adams earned an Associate's degree in Hospitality Administration/Management from Madison Area Technical College, which they attended from 1992 to 1994. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Lacrosse University, from 2000 to 2001.
