Roberta Rampton is an experienced journalist currently serving as the White House News Editor for The Associated Press since October 2025. In this role, Rampton leads a team of reporters to provide fast, accurate, and unbiased news on presidential coverage, while coordinating with both Washington and global teams to assess the implications of White House decisions. Prior to this, Rampton worked as the White House Editor at NPR from October 2019 to October 2025, where responsibilities included managing a team of reporters and producing stories for flagship radio programs and podcasts. Rampton also served as a White House Correspondent for Thomson Reuters from December 2012 to October 2019, reporting on a variety of domestic and foreign policy issues during the Obama and Trump administrations. Earlier in the career at Reuters News Agency from 2002 to 2012, Rampton broke significant news on various economic and political issues and covered a range of stories in the Canadian prairies. Rampton holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University.
