Tammy Webber

Reporter

Tammy Webber is an experienced journalist currently serving as a reporter on the climate and environment team at The Associated Press since 2009. Prior to this role, Webber held positions as an enterprise editor and interim news editor at the Chicago bureau of The Associated Press from 2006 to 2009. As an environment reporter for The Indianapolis Star from 2002 to 2006, notable projects included an award-winning investigation into increased cancer risks in a low-income neighborhood near polluting industries. Earlier experience includes reporting on environmental and medical issues at The Associated Press from 1998 to 2002, where Webber examined educational safety in high school chemistry labs, and at The Flint Journal from 1992 to 1998, where multiple awards were received for investigations of industrial waste dumps. Webber also worked as an editor/reporter for Flint Area Newspapers from 1986 to 1992. Educational credentials include degrees from the University of Illinois Chicago and the University of Michigan.
