Virgile Ahissou

Virgile Ahissou is an experienced journalist with a career spanning over three decades, primarily focused on news reporting in Africa. Currently serving as a correspondent and reporter for The Associated Press since March 1991, Virgile also contributes as a reporter and audio producer for SciDev.Net since June 2013. Previous roles include correspondent for Bloomberg News from October 2014 to May 2020, and editor-in-chief at AFRIKA7 from May 2012 to April 2017. Virgile's background includes significant experience at BBC Afrique from April 1993 to July 2013 and journalistic roles at MEDIAne AFRIQUE and AFP. Virgile holds a Diplôme de Technicien Supérieur in Electronics from Ecole de Hautes Technologies, obtained between 1988 and 1991.
