Chris Callison-Burch has extensive work experience in the field of computational linguistics. Chris is currently serving as the Sponsorship Director at the Association for Computational Linguistics Inc since July 2020. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Pennsylvania as an Associate Professor from June 2017 and as an Assistant Professor from September 2013 to June 2017. Chris also held various roles within the Association for Computational Linguistics Inc, including being the General Chair for ACL 2017 and the Program Co-Chair for EMNLP 2015. Additionally, Chris worked at The Johns Hopkins University as a Research Associate Professor from June 2007 to August 2013, and as a Research Assistant Professor from June 2007 to June 2010. Chris also served as the Chair of the NAACL Executive Board at the Association for Computational Linguistics Inc from 2012 to 2013.

Chris Callison-Burch completed their Bachelor's degree in Symbolic Systems at Stanford University from 1996 to 2000. Chris then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at The University of Edinburgh from 2001 to 2002. Continuing their academic journey, Chris attained a PhD in Informatics from The University of Edinburgh, completing their studies from 2002 to 2008.
