Khaled Shaalan is a distinguished academic with a robust background in computer science and artificial intelligence. Serving as Co-Chair of the Faculty of Engineering & IT and Full Professor of Computer Science at The British University in Dubai since 2004, Khaled oversees both academic and administrative matters and leads the PhD program in Computer Science. Khaled holds an editorial position as Associate Editor on the ACM Transactions of Asian and Low Resource Language Information Processing, focusing on Arabic Natural Language Processing. Previously, Khaled was an Honorary Fellow at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, and a Professor of Computer Science at Cairo University. Khaled's early career includes roles at the National Center for Examination and Educational Evaluation and the Central Lab for Agricultural Expert Systems in Egypt, complemented by a Ph.D. from Cairo University in collaboration with the Swedish Institute of Computer Science.
