Thar Baker

Thar Baker currently serves as the Associate Dean (Research and Knowledge Exchange) and Professor at the University of Brighton since January 2023. In addition to this role, Thar Baker is an Associate Editor for several prestigious publications, including Discover IoT at Springer Nature Technology and Publishing Solutions, ACM Computing Surveys at the Association for Computing Machinery, and IET Networks at the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Thar Baker's previous experience includes positions as an Associate Editor at Elsevier for the Journal of Network and Computer Applications and Future Generation Computer Systems, as well as an Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah. Earlier academic roles included Reader in Cloud Engineering and Senior Lecturer of Computing at Liverpool John Moores University, a Lecturer of Computer Science at Manchester Metropolitan University, and a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Liverpool John Moores University. Thar Baker holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Liverpool John Moores University, awarded between 2007 and 2010.
