Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment in Children
ATTACh is an international coalition of professionals and families dedicated to helping those who live and work with children who suffer from issues caused by early childhood trauma, such as abuse, loss of a parent or displacement from their home. Untreated trauma-based attachment disorder can result in severe mental illness, uncontrolled rage, criminal behavior, homelessness, drug abuse and suicide, having a massive effect on the larger community. The effects of early childhood trauma and abuse are real and lasting if left untreated. Unfortunately, it is a severely under-treated condition. Most therapies only treat the symptoms of trauma-based attachment disorder rather than healing the source of the behavioral and emotional issues. Established in 1989, ATTACh focuses on healing the underlying emotional issues through proven methods and is an international leader in the field.
