Stephen N. Gordon is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in regulatory and safety matters within the transportation sector. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel - Safety for the Association of American Railroads since October 2022, Stephen provides legal counsel on rail safety issues, compliance with antitrust laws, and supports advocacy efforts for AAR members. Previously, Stephen held key positions at the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, including Associate Administrator and Assistant Chief Counsel for Regulatory Affairs, where leadership was provided in various areas including rulemaking and performance management.
