Neil Virani

Neil Virani is currently serving as the President of Charter at the Association of California School Administrators since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Charter at the same organization from May 2022 to May 2023. Neil also worked as the Executive Director of Special Education & Pupil Personnel Services at K-12 Unified School District starting from June 2021. Before that, they served as a Special Education Program Administrator at the same district from July 2018 to June 2021. Neil has also worked as a Graduate Teaching assistant at Pepperdine University since July 2013. In addition, they have experience working as a Special Education Consultant starting from September 2009. Before that, they held various positions including Lead Instructional Coordinator, Linked Learning, School Principal, Special/General Education Teacher, and BTB Supervisor at Los Angeles Unified School District from June 1997 to June 2018. Neil Virani also has experience as a Teaching Policy Fellow at Teach Plus, serving as a California Teaching Policy Fellow from January 2012 to December 2012 and as a Los Angeles Teaching Policy Fellow from January 2011 to December 2011.

Neil Virani has an extensive education history. Neil attended Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology from 2020 to 2024, where they earned a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree specializing in Learning Technologies. In 2023, they also obtained a Mediation Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Caruso Law. Prior to this, from 2014 to 2015, they completed a California Administrative Services Credential in Education Leadership and Administration from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Before attending Pepperdine University, Neil Virani pursued their undergraduate studies at California State University, Northridge. Neil earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History with Minors in Mathematics and Religious Studies. Additionally, they also completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Special Education and Teaching from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, although the specific start and end years for this degree were not provided.
