Shannon Holmes Ed.d.

Dr. Shannon Holmes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Shannon currently serves as the Executive Director/CEO at the Association of Texas Professional Educators since September 2018. Prior to that, they were a member of the Board of Directors at Demarshan LLC starting from January 2013. Shannon also worked as an Adjunct Professor in School Finance at Lamar University from January 2011 to December 2019. Additionally, they served on the Board of Directors at the Texas Association of Mid-Sized Schools from January 2014 to December 2018, and on the Board of Directors (Legislative Council) at the University Interscholastic League from January 2012 to December 2018. Dr. Holmes previously held leadership positions at Hardin-Jefferson ISD, where they served as the Superintendent/CEO from July 2005 to September 2018 and as the Assistant Superintendent/CFO from February 1998 to July 2005. Shannon has also served on the Board of Directors at the Texas Association of School Administrators from January 2011 to July 2017, and at the Texas Association of School Business Officials from January 2004 to December 2007. Before their career in education, they worked as an Accountant/Auditor/Business Consultant at Wathen, DeShong & Juncker, L.L.P. from June 1995 to February 1998.

Prior to that, Shannon Holmes earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from Houston Baptist University.
