Clara Arndtsen

Animal Wellbeing Program Assistant at Association of Zoos and Aquariums

Clara Arndtsen is an experienced professional in animal care and research, currently serving as an Animal Wellbeing Program Assistant at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since January 2023. Clara has previously held multiple roles at the Wild Bird Fund, including Volunteer Coordinator, Animal Care Manager, and Intern/Volunteer, where responsibilities included providing care for avian species and promoting conservation efforts. As a Research Assistant at the Tisch Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York, Clara focused on laboratory protocols related to behavioral tests and cell culture work. Additional experience includes work as a Student Assistant at Wimpfheimer Nursery School, a Laboratory Intern at Vassar Biology Department, an Environmental Education and Animal Behavior Intern at Philadelphia Zoo, and a Summer Camp Counselor at Cub Creek Science Camp. Clara earned a Master’s degree in Animal Behavior and Conservation from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior from Vassar College, with a minor in Hispanic Studies.
