Mircea Ionescu

Mircea Ionescu is a seasoned professional in the field of software engineering and data science, currently serving as a Software Engineering Manager and Senior Data Scientist at Assurant Labs since April 2012. Prior to this, Mircea Ionescu held the position of Senior Computer Vision Scientist at Charles River Laboratories, contributing to the development of an Image Understanding System for Computer Assisted Pathology Software. Academic experience includes conducting PhD research in Machine Learning at the University of Cincinnati, where a Fuzzy Hamming Distance and a Content Based Image Retrieval system were developed. Early career roles encompass team leadership in software development at Concept Uno Software and foundational software development positions at Cybersoft and Gecad Technologies.
