Adam Towse

Adam Towse has extensive work experience in various industries. Adam started their career as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Navy and then worked as a Field Engineer for Schlumberger, providing on-site services for directional drilling. Adam also worked as a Design Analyst for Federal-Mogul.

Towse then joined ThyssenKrupp as an Analysis Supervisor, leading the Finite Element Analysis function for automotive subframes and chassis mini-modules.

After that, they worked as a Design Substantiation Manager at Assystem, where they later became a Technical Consultant and Head of Discipline for Stress. Adam also held the position of Senior Principal Simulation and Assessment Engineer and Head of Discipline for Simulation and Assessment.

In addition to their roles in industry, Towse has served in leadership positions in the Computational Structural Mechanics Working Group at NAFEMS.

Adam Towse earned a PhD in Composites and Adhesives from the University of Bristol in 1998. Prior to that, they obtained a BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in 1992 and a degree in Marine Engineering, specializing in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, from the Royal Naval Engineering College in Manadon, Plymouth in 1991. Adam also completed Royal Naval Leadership Training at Britannia Royal Naval College in 1988. Adam'ssecondary education was at Hull Trinity House School from 1982 to 1987. In 2013, they obtained the certifications of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Engineering Council and Fellow (FIMechE) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
