Mahmood Alwash

Mahmood Alwash is an experienced electrical engineer currently serving as Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering and Power Systems at AST SpaceMobile since May 2022. Prior to this role, Mahmood was Principal Power Subsystem Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where leadership of the Electric Power Subsystem Team focused on the development of the power system for the Mission Robotics Vehicle within the DARPA RSGS program. Mahmood's previous experience includes serving as Staff Power Subsystem Engineer at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation, where leadership of the Electric Propulsion Integrated Product Team was pivotal in developing the propulsion system for the Boeing Passenger Air Vehicle. Academic contributions include a Doctor of Philosophy in Power Electronics from The University of Sheffield and time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, complemented by relevant roles at Ubiqutek, Rolls-Royce, and NASA, underscoring a strong foundation and expertise in electrical engineering.
