Kuni Itoh

Kuni Itoh serves as a Senior Manager in Corporate Strategy at アステラス製薬 since April 2008, specializing in portfolio, partnering, and R&D strategy, including the evaluation of in-licensing and M&A opportunities. Responsibilities encompass extensive pharmaceutical due diligence, scientific and market competitiveness assessments, and financial evaluations involving various analytical methods. Kuni has also contributed to R&D strategy for cell and gene therapy, regenerative medicine, and infectious diseases, while managing relationships with CMO/CRO globally and preparing regulatory submissions across multiple regions. Currently, Kuni holds a position as a Project Researcher at 東京大学 and serves on the Editorial Committee of the "Bioscience and Industry" magazine for the Japan Bioindustry Association. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Science from The University of Tokyo and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Applied Life Sciences from Kyoto University.
