Neil Payne

Neil Payne has extensive legal experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, currently serving as Executive Director - Legal Lead for Strategic Commercial Transformations at Astellas Pharma since March 2017. Previously, Neil held various executive and senior director roles at Astellas, focusing on international and emerging markets legal affairs. Prior professional experience includes positions as Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel at BTG plc, Pharma Legal Counsel at Roche Pharmaceuticals, and Corporate Solicitor roles at Gowling WLG and Farrer & Co. Neil began legal training as a Trainee Solicitor at Boyes Turner. Educational qualifications include an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King's College London, and a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham.
