Jitao Zheng

Research Intern | Space Robotics at Asteroid Mining Corporation Ltd

Jitao Zheng is a highly skilled aerospace engineer with extensive experience in robotics and space exploration. Currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V., Jitao is involved in robust testing of autonomous navigation systems for the Martian Moons Exploration (MMX) Rover. Previous roles include a Research Intern at the Space Robotics Laboratory, where Jitao developed a novel graspable target detection system for multi-legged robots and presented findings at ISpaRo2024. Jitao has also worked on process automation in additive manufacturing, conducted experiments for lunar applications at the Technical University of Munich, and gained valuable industry experience with Daimler AG and Bosch in manufacturing and R&D roles. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, complemented by international study at Tohoku University.
